This workshop is part of the “Los sonidos de las piedras” (“The sounds of stones”) initiative, a scientific and artistic project combining art (music) and geology through stone sculptures (https://sonidosdelaspiedras.com).

Attendees will learn about science through art. Approximately 20 stone sculptures used as percussion instruments (lithophones) will be displayed. Many of these sculptures will be accessible to the public.

Throughout the evening there will be several demonstrations to show how stones sound, as well as the links between art and science. Visitors will be able to carry out sound experiments with the lithophones on display.
