Main Event ERN 2022 -FSE-Competition-“Fake News Hunters”
Short video contest to dismantle scientific hoaxes.
The ultimate objective is to foster critical thinking and scientific thinking among young people so that they will in future be conscious, free and non-manageable citizens.
This is to counter a false scientific news using the same method of “infection”: viralizar a short video with information and reliable data that disassemble the bull.
The contest is for secondary school students from the Region of Murcia: ESO, FP and Bachillerato. The children will have to rely on the help of a teacher. Basically the only requirement of the video (well, in addition to the obvious ones of not having criminal content, nor viruses…) is that they do not last more than 2 minutes. The style is totally free.
It will be presented at Researchers’ Night 2022 (30 September).
Registration will be made during the first quarter of the school year. The deadline for submissions will be May 15, 2023, and on Researchers’ Night 2023, September 29, the awards will be given. There will be no popular votes, but a jury made up of experts in journalism (I’m going to propose, and God will have, as the saying goes) and scientific disclosure will decide who will be the winners.
Date and time:
23 September 2022 to 29 September 2023
