Science Nights is an event organized by the Alicante Association for Scientific Dissemination in the Sala Clan Cabaret in Alicante, in collaboration with the University of Alicante and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche. Through informative talks by the research group, an attempt is made to bring science closer to general society, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Next Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m., the fifth season begins with two researchers from the University of Alicante, José Antonio Moya and Javier Muñoz, with a talk called “Photography slowly, I’m in a hurry: 3D shipwrecks”.

In this session, the speakers will talk about photogrammetry applied to underwater archaeology; a technique to obtain three-dimensional models of an object or a site whose purpose is the precise documentation of its shape, dimensions and its position in space. They will explain part of an underwater archaeological excavation with images and examples of different projects and with some of the tools we use.
