  Workshops:

What happens in my brain when I learn a foreign language?.  Activity adaptable to different levels. For children, we will present a puzzle with connectors that will correspond to the different parts of the brain involved in this process. For a teen and/or adult audience, we will hang a poster with an infographic.

In the skin of Curie and Pasteur. Next to the stand we will place a photocall board with a montage of the portraits of the scientists Marie Curie and Louis Pasteur with a hole in their faces so that those who visit our stand can take a photo and take a souvenir of the event.

Visionary literature and Science: Julio Verne This activity can be performed both physically and virtually. We will create a memory game with images of the technological inventions that appear in the work of Jules Verne and titles of his works that players must relate. We will propose at the same time a poster in which we will collect essential information about the life and work of Verne, and to what extent he is considered a visionary.

Mapping the most relevant Italian scientists. Participants will read a brief description on the back of a photo/illustration of a scientist/scientist, as well as the most relevant aspects of her trajectory. In addition, a series of clues will be given about their place of birth. Participants, after reading these clues, should place each scientist/or in their home region. The aim of this activity is to raise awareness among the most important Italian scientists/s and to disseminate some aspects of Italian culture and heritage.

Famous phrases of scientists in English and their correspondences in French and Spanish. We present to the attendees a series of quotes in English language and they must guess what scientist has pronounced it. They are then explained the vocabulary contained in that quote and told a short story of each of the researchers to whom these phrases belong. Once this step has been carried out, we offer you the correspondences in French and English so that you can see what similarities and differences there are between English and French and what the phrase means in Spanish.

Scientists around the world. On a world map, attendees should discover where a selection of French, German, Arabic, English and Italian-speaking scientists were born.

Sages and sages of Murcia. The main objective of our participation is to make known wise and wise men and women of the Region of Murcia of the Araboislámica era, focusing on the culture of knowledge from all branches of knowledge of our common legacy within of the idea of continuity cultures and Arabic as a language vhicle.

We will make an exhibition of covers of books of said sages and, if possible, we will visualize audiovisual extracts of some of them, with Arabic Andalusian musical background.

In this context a game will be proposed to the public where there will be a series of envelopes containing quotations of such sages (in Arabic language, in Arabic calligraphy, including its translation into Spanish) with elements indicators of the themes of each of his works (common terminology between title and citation or others).

The dynamics of the game will consist in the recognition of these authors and their works through anonymous quotes made available to students in envelopes or other simple way of offering the material.

Participants will have to relate their quotation to one of the book covers already exhibited, based on the title of each of these works.

It is, thus, a recognition and a knowledge in turn of and to the authors who make up the substrate of an extensive and essential historical epoch of our culture and at the same time identify Arabic as a language of interdisciplinary interest and as a language of wisdom and science.

ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT ONLINE*

Title workshop/activity Description of the activity

Kahoot! – how much do you know about these scientists/ace?  Description of the activity: Through the Kahoot tool! We will propose a contest with questions about French, German, Arabic, English and Italian speaking scientists/s, their main milestones and their contribution to science. Visitors to our stand will access the questionnaire using a PIN code. We will be updating the score in the ranking on a whiteboard that we will hang on the stand and at the end of the day we will publish the final winner on the social networks of the GEF: Facebook and Instagram.

Kahoot! – In what country was it invented? Due to the heterogeneous nature of the department of French, Romanesque, Italian and Arabic philology, we have proposed to integrate the different countries that participate in the degree in a recreational activity. Through the platform Kahoot! a series of inventions will be proposed and participants will have to guess in which country invented. These may come from France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain and countries that make up the Arab League.
