It is proposed to create a stereotypical workshop where students can feel like real master stonemasons.

It is proposed to create a stereotypical workshop where students can feel like real master stonemasons. The idea is to reproduce stone construction systems based on geometric cutting, such as arches, vaults and real-size factories with previously designed and carved voussoirs in a light material, for example, polyfoam or similar. In this way, students will be able to test for themselves the ability of the stereotype to play with geometry in space and solve constructive problems, regardless of the resistance of the material. This workshop is proposed as the natural extension of another workshop presented in previous calls called Miniconstrucciones: the challenge of designing and building a building. The workshop proposed a series of building sets on a scale and which provided a first approach to the structures. This new workshop aims to take a step further in this line and interact with real-size constructions, so that students become master stonemasons for a day and face the usual problems in the execution of arches and real vaults. In addition, these constructions will be practicable; that is, once completed, students can pass under them or load them to check their stability. No doubt, this will be surprising, as you will witness how a kind of three-dimensional puzzle is able to hold itself in the space without the use of any adhesive between the pieces.
