During this activity the Association of Biotechnologists of the Region of Murcia (BiotecMUR) will raise three scientific experiences for all ages:

• Observation of fluorescent microorganisms
In this activity the general public will be able to observe in Petri dishes fluorescent microorganisms under UV light with the necessary safety measures and the explanation of the great importance and impact of recombinant DNA technology in Biotechnology.
• Extraction of DNA
This activity aims to show the extraction of DNA of plant origin (banana) after explaining this biomolecule, its structure and important function within all living beings. To do this, through the help of a DNA model will be released a global vision of all these aspects.
• Detection of vitamin C
In this activity they will carry out several scientific experiences where they will show the attendees the qualitative determination of the presence of vitamin C of different fruits and vegetables by means of its antioxodante capacity, using commonly used products such as povidone iodine.
