Main Event ERN 2023 -UMU-Workshop-“Our vision of Neuroscience -THE BRAIN”

Our vision of Neuroscience -THE BRAIN

29/09/2023
Schedule, Workshop

The following workshops have been scheduled for all ages:
• Our vision of Neuroscience – The BRAIN

Exhibition. We aim to provide a global view of the biological determinants of behavior, helping to understand how different parts of the nervous system receive information, interrelate with each other for processing and how cognitive activity and behavioral manifestations take place. The present exhibition shows the students’ work, which reflects their vision of the physiological structures and processes of our nervous system. We can observe real pieces, anatomical models at scale and the different academic-artistic interpretations made by students of 1st year of the Psychology Degree. Visitors will thus have access to different perspectives of Neuroscience and Art.

• The bioelectric waves of our BRAIN
Workshop/demonstration. Through a simple headband device, we will teach participants brain waves, while, with exercises, interact in real time with these brain waves.

• Playing with our brain waves
Workshop/demonstration. Through a simple headband device, participants will play different video games, using only their brain waves, interacting in real time through their levels of concentration and relaxation, and the flicker of their eyes.

• Where is everything in our BRAIN?
Workshop. For the little ones and not so small, we will provide educational material for coloring.
• We locate the parts of the BRAIN and their functions
Workshop. For children we will play with puzzles and educational material to identify brain areas and put them in relation to cognitive functions.
• We start the executive functions

Workshop. For the little ones we will make games where we show the main executive functions.

  • Cognitive functions: assessment and stimulation

Workshop. All audiences are shown and activities are carried out to evaluate and stimulate cognitive functions such as memory, attention and executive functions.

Coordination: Bruno Rodolfo Ribeiro Do Couto, Department of Human Anatomy and Psychobiology, University of Murcia.

Day and time: 29 September, 18-22 hours.
