General event, Schedule, Workshop

These scientific experiments aim to get young people interested in science, promote critical attitudes and introduce participants to the scientific method as a useful tool for their personal and professional development.

The activity will consist of the demonstration of three short experiments:

First experiment: The fleeing pepper. Pepper will be added to a dish with water. Then, the children will dip a soap-covered finger in it to see how soap changes the properties of water.

Second experiment: The glass drinks water. They will discover what happens when a candle consumes all the oxygen inside a glass, relating it to several processes in nature.

Third experiment: Go with the flow. Using a light bulb, a battery, two wires and needles, we will explain why salt water conducts electricity and fresh water does not.
