This game has two objectives: (1) to teach participants how an ecosystem works and the processes needed for it to be healthy and resilient, and (2) to raise awareness of the importance of ecosystem conservation.

There will be two activities:

  • Card game: each player has to obtain a set of “ingredients”; in this case, ecosystem processes to create a healthy ecosystem. Sometimes disturbances can arise; the severity of the damage caused by these disturbances will depend on the ingredients already obtained. Whoever gets all the “ingredients” needed for a complete and healthy ecosystem will be the winner.
  • Photo quiz with healthy and disturbed ecosystems: using the same ingredient symbols as in the previous game, participants have to figure out which elements are missing in the ecosystems shown in the photos. There are four pairs of photos, each pair showing a different type of ecosystem. The difference between the photos in each pair is the state of the ecosystem: one is healthy, the other is degraded. Players also have to say what kind of disturbance damaged each ecosystem type.
