Main Event ERN UA -2022- Workshop “What is money used for?”
In this game, participants will learn the difference between a barter economy and a monetary economy.
Gift vouchers will be randomly distributed to participants (voucher for a chocolate, a soft drink, a toy, a pen, a handkerchief, a cap, etc.). They will have to make exchanges to obtain the gift they want, or the one they have been asked to obtain. They will start an exchange process in which they will likely be unable to reach an agreement, although they can try. Then, they will be given money vouchers and negotiate again. In theory, the number of transactions should be reduced until a balance is reached and everyone has the gift they want, which gives rise to a reference price system.
