This workshop, organized by the Forum of the Spanish Nuclear Industry and taught by the expert in Intelligence and Emotions in the Classroom and doctor in Experimental and Mathematical Sciences, García Álvarez Gragera, aims to increase students’ willingness to know physical, chemical, mathematical concepts or of any discipline of the sciences, by means of “unnatural” phenomena, in appearance, which are shown to them with the help of magic tricks.

With this methodology, his mind is activated by surprise and he wants to know what has happened, causing a greater involvement and participation in the Teaching-Learning process.

In order to carry it out, students are questioned about their ideas about a scientific concept by proposing a magic trick. After performing the same, as an introduction to a subject or concept, their curiosity is encouraged and they will wonder what has happened, provoking a debate in class to seek the explanation for the trick. Once the event has been explained, and after capturing their attention, the concept associated with the corresponding explanations will be developed. At the end of the class and as a task of expansion, they will be presented with different surprising challenges related to concepts that they have to explain in a way that strengthens this curiosity to learn.
