To begin, a general presentation will be made to introduce what polymers are, how they are produced, types of polymers: synthetic and natural and what they are used for according to the physico-chemical characteristics

The importance of using natural polymers as a substitute for synthetics for reducing carbon footprint will be discussed.

Some samples of polymers used during our daily life will be shown: nylon, PE, PET, PP, PS, cellulose…

During the practical session, in groups of 4 people, two types of homemade polymers will be made.
