The objetive is to present an example of a company following a circular economy model and to produce natural cosmetics from fruit and vegetable by-products. BIODIVERSO, es una empresa de Base Tecnológica (EBT) de la UPCT. Its objective is the research, development and marketing of cosmetic and nutritional products, made from fruit, vegetables and their by-products. They are natural products, free of chemical substances of synthetic origin. It is a cosmetic that uses fruit and vegetable pulps as main ingredients. On what do we base? Hundreds of scientific papers have demonstrated the existence of more than 5,000 bioactive substances, such as vitamins, minerals, phenolic compounds, including flavonoids, sulfur compounds, monoterpenes, or bioactive peptides, which play a fundamental role in plants, either to reduce oxidative stress, regulate metabolic processes, defend against predators, etc. We benefit from these bioactive when we eat fruits and vegetables, since they exert an important function in our health, show antioxidant properties, anti-inflammatory, antitumor effects, etc. BIODIVERSO directly uses fruit and vegetable pulps, incorporating 25% of them into its formula, obtaining body creams rich in bioactive compounds. Under this scientific umbrella, we have patented our formulas, able to protect, nourish and moisturize the skin. We feed the skin based on the power of fruit therapy, encapsulating the functional richness of fruits and vegetables.
